Cognitive Fallacies

The world is big and complex. To make sense of it in a real time fashion, we humans take certain shortcuts. Some of these are biologically programmed into us, some of them are culturally learned, and some are assumptions that we have adapted due to our repeated experiences. Most of the time, these shortcuts work to our advantage, giving us quick access to probably right understandings of our situation, and mostly good enough solutions to problems. When they go wrong, it can be incredibly difficult to work past and correct to make wise decisions.
